I have never entered into a surf kayak competition before, but have been shredding in the local waters for about a year now. I know the smack downs shall come (from nature and fellow competitors as well), and I welcome them. The freedom I have discovered from ocean kayaking has been indescribable, and I owe a lot to the sport already. Thanks to whoever came up with this great sport, culture, organization, and all that jazz... I look forward to meeting new friends and competitors in a couple of weeks, and good luck to all!
