Info on Myrtle Beach SC contest, April 1st.....plus other upcoming events
Hello all, just an update.Looks like we've got our permit for this weekend's (April 1st) Myrtle Beach SC event, pray for waves. We have a few sites to choose from, potentially it will be at the usual spot in front of Damons....
The plan is to meet friday night at Damons, I will post a time and address tommorrow.
We will plan on running the whole contest on Sat, so if you can't make it on friday night, just get there early Sat morning. Make sure to call or email me by friday and let me know what classes you want to be in.
As always, in the event that we have no surf on Sat, there is potential to push the contest to sunday.....lets hope it all goes off on Sat and we can be done by sat evening.
As far as lodging goes, there should be plenty of cheap hotel rooms near the beach. Post here if you need a room.
Entry fees should be similar to previous events...in the 30 dollar range, plus a discount if you bring somebody new.
Next weekend, April 8th, we will be holding another event at Hanna Park, Atlantic Beach, in Jacksonville FL. I would suggest calling Hanna park to make reservations if you want to camp or stay in a cabin. (904) 249-4700. The comfort inn in Mayport is very nice as well, and is reasonably priced.I'll post more details on the JAX event next week.
The Wilmington, NC event, scheduled for April 15th is still up in the air....I screwed up on getting the permit, so we're seeing if we're going to be able to get one in time. Stay tuned, will try to post more info as it comes along....hopefully it will all work out.
Anyway, hit me up on email and let me know if you are coming to these events. Hope you are all surfing more than I have been (though that would not be hard)
