VBSK Paddle for a Cause
Dave with the Virginia Beach Surf Kayakers is holding Paddle for a Cause this weekend, here is some info on this worthwhile charity event.
Don't forget about VBSK's Paddle For A Cause!
The event is this Saturday, October 7, 2006. The contest begins at 7:30am and lasts until we've all surfed! We will meet at the Market in Sandbridge at the end of Sandbridge Rd. The public parking lot will be open (that's what I've been told). The lot is just past the Market (or between Sandfiddler and Sandpiper Rd south of the Market). This is a charity event to benefit the March of Dimes. In the past two years paddle surfers have donated over half of the money raised! This gives us paddle surfers (and/or paddlers) a great name and we've created a better rapport with the stand-up surf culture. I'd like to invite all that have paddle surf craft (or and surf craft) to participate in this fun event. Even if you or your boat is out of commission it'll be a great opportunity to meet new paddlers like yourself and enjoy a really awesome day on the beach! Forms can be downloaded on the website, but please try and submit them to me by Friday at lunch time. For all you procrastinaters or on-the-fence decision makers you may still be able to sign-up at the beach...we'll see!
